Eastside kids

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

Matthew 19:14

We love kids at Eastside and we believe that they are an important part of the church--present and future. We want to provide a fun and welcoming place where kids can discover who God is and lay a firm faith foundation. In each environment, we strive to make Biblical truths come alive in developmentally appropriate ways so that kids connect the Bible with their lives. We hope every kids who enters our ministry feels loved, connected, and excited to come back!

Nursery (0-18 months)

With our youngest Eastside Kids, we want to introduce them to God's love and God's family, the church. We do this by surrounding them with amazing volunteers who show them that church is a safe place, a fun place, and a place where they are welcomed and loved.

Toddlers (18-36 months)

With Toddlers, we continue to introduce kids to God's love and God's family, the church, by showing them that church is a fun, safe, and loving place. We spend most of our time together playing, but we also do a simple craft and play video lessons while we play.

Preschool (3yrs to Pre-K)

In Preschool we want to engage the kids' sense of wonder as we teach them about our great big God who made us and loves us. Each month we have a simple truth that we learn through Bible stories. We have video led worship and a lesson each week and throughout the service we engage in games, crafts, and guided play that connect with the weekly Bible story.

During our 11:00 service, we have a separate class for 3 year olds in order to keep our class sizes smaller and engage each kid at their level.  The 3's Class joins the Preschool class for worship and the lesson but spends more time in free play and does a simpler craft than the older preschoolers.

Kids are sent home with a Parent Cue that tells parents the monthly simple truth, the weekly story, and ideas of how parents can continue the conversation at home.

Elementary (K-4th grade)

In Elementary we want kids to learn about God's character as a model for how they should live. Each month we focus on a different virtue and look at how God Himself or His people in the Bible display that virtue and try to discover what that looks like in our own lives. We believe that kids learn best through fun so we incorporate energetic worship, creative storytelling, and activities, games, and crafts that all point back to the weekly Bottom Line.

All of our Elementary kids are together for worship and the lesson, but we start and end separated into Kindergarten-2nd Grade and 3rd & 4th Grade. In these smaller, grade-specific groups, our leaders are able to connect with each kid at their level with activities that connect what they learned in the main lesson with their everyday lives.
